Useful information, organised around your decisions.

These answers explain the general way ProxeWave works. They are not a case assessment or legal advice. If your circumstances are urgent or unusual, contact us directly rather than relying only on general website information.

01

Getting started

5 commonly asked questions

What types of assets can ProxeWave help with?

We work across personal and business matters including dormant assets, commercial receivables, misdirected funds and assets affected by suspected fraud. Suitability is confirmed during assessment.

What happens during the initial assessment?

We review the background, available documents, parties involved and your intended outcome. We then explain whether we can assist and the likely route.

What documents should I prepare?

Useful material can include contracts, statements, correspondence, transaction references and a timeline. Do not send highly sensitive documents until a secure route has been agreed.

What if I have very little evidence?

You can still contact us. We will identify what is known, what may be obtainable and whether there is a proportionate route to investigate further.

How do I get started?

Use the contact page, call us or message us on WhatsApp with a brief outline. Please avoid sending highly sensitive documents until requested through an agreed secure route.

Working with ProxeWave

6 commonly asked questions

How long does an asset recovery case take?

Timelines vary with complexity, available evidence, jurisdiction and third-party response times. We provide a realistic indication once the matter has been assessed.

Do you guarantee a recovery?

No. Recovery work carries uncertainty and no responsible provider should promise a guaranteed result. We explain risks and prospects candidly.

How do fees work?

The proposed fee structure is explained before you instruct us. It will reflect the scope, complexity and expected work involved.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. We apply access controls and handle personal information in line with our privacy obligations. Any necessary sharing is explained.

How will I receive case updates?

Your case manager will agree a communication approach and provide clear updates at meaningful stages, including decisions or new information that affects the strategy.

Can I pause or end an instruction?

Your engagement terms will explain how work can be paused or ended and how completed work and committed third-party costs are handled. Speak with your case contact as early as possible.

03

Services and recovery routes

6 commonly asked questions

Can you take legal action for me?

ProxeWave is not a law firm. Where legal advice or proceedings are required, we can help coordinate with an appropriately qualified professional.

Can you help if the asset or counterparty is overseas?

Potentially. Cross-border work depends on the countries involved, available records and the professionals required in each jurisdiction.

Can businesses instruct ProxeWave?

Yes. We support businesses with receivables, transaction tracing, counterparty research and other commercial recovery matters.

Can ProxeWave help with cryptocurrency or other digital assets?

Potentially. Suitability depends on the asset, wallet or platform information, transaction history and jurisdictions involved. We explain when blockchain analysis, legal advice or specialist technical support may be required.

What should I do immediately after suspected fraud?

Contact your bank, card provider or payment service immediately if money may still be moving. Secure affected accounts, preserve messages and transaction records, and use the appropriate official fraud-reporting route.

What happens if ProxeWave is not the right service?

We will explain why and, where appropriate, identify a more suitable direct, legal, insolvency, regulated or official route. We do not recommend unnecessary work merely to keep a matter open.

04

Standards and safeguards

3 commonly asked questions

Is ProxeWave regulated as a law firm?

No. ProxeWave is an asset recovery consultancy, not a law firm. We involve appropriately qualified legal professionals when legal advice or representation is needed.

Why might you need to verify my identity?

Identity and authority checks help protect clients, third parties and the integrity of recovery work. The information required depends on the asset, your role and any professional or legal obligations involved.

How can I make a complaint?

Contact us by email, telephone or post and explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking. Our Complaints Procedure sets out how concerns are acknowledged, reviewed and answered. Read our Complaints Procedure →
